After failing a major test of its capabilities, the Air Force AI system for the F-22 and its unmanned aircraft programs has been canceled by the Secretary of Defense. The Air Force has been instructed to adopt the AI system developed by the Navy for its Super-Hornet aircraft. The Navy system has already proved to be successful and is incorporated in to 40 Navy Super Hornet aircraft as well as 25 Marine Corps Hornets and some helicopters. Currently the Navy AI system is being incorporated in to the design of Navy and Marine Corps Joint Strike fighters and has been approved for sale to the British Royal Navy's Joint strike fighters with a sale of 14 units expected.
