Project 1157 was a planned Soviet missile-cruiser class during the late 1980s. Basically it was a Slava class cruiser with stealth design and a much upgraded anti-air defense that included the SA-N-24 SAM system. The cruiser was meant to be a counterbalance to the latest American destroyer, the Arleigh Burke class. However the end of the cold war and the collapse of the Soviet Union put an end to the project and the new cruiser never left the drawing board.

It's a fantasy design, not a real one. None of the otherwise reliable sources I have on Soviet shipbuilding projects (e.g., Pavolov's Warships of the USSR and Russia) mention this design, and the various online renderings show far too many features that are not consistent with Soviet design practices from the era. Even a decade later, Russian concepts for naval stealth ships looked nothing like Western designs, thanks to very different doctrinal approaches.

Not to mention that the S-400 SAM system only entered service a couple of years ago, it didn't exist in that time frame, if it was a real design it would have spoken about the S-300 system that was fitted to the Kirov's and Slava's.

There really isn't much information on any plans beyond the designs that were either in construciton or on the verge of it when the SOviet Union ollase. Thse are:

1) The Udaloy II/Admiral Chabaneko destroyer, which is basically a hybrid of the Udaloy and Sovremennyy designs:

2) The Neustrashimy frigate:

3) the Gepard corvette:

4) The Novik corvette (positioned as a low-cost counterpart to the Neustrashimy)--this is the only one that looks even a bit stealthy, and that's only cosmetic, thanks to the lattice masts and so forth. It is the only design that was not actually in construciotn in the Soviet era, and it may have been reworked between the late 1980s and 1997, when it was laid down.

I suspect it's a stylized version of the Kamaov Ka-60 Black Shark. There were reports of a naval version from about this timeframe, possibly with a conventional rather than Fenestron tail rotor.

Steregushiy is an entirely post-Soviet design. The Novik design I posted was a late Soviet design begun in the late 1980s. There's no direct connection between the two, as far as I know.
