By July 1915 it's too late for SMS Konigsberg to escape the Rufji River delta. In addition to blockading ships the British have landed troops at strategic
points.

Who gives permission for LT side-stories? Do you audition? If there's no objection, I'll do a little research, see if there's a story to be had,
and give it a shot.

Anyone can write anything, of course. I just reserve the right to say which ones conform to LT enough to become part of the larger story.
I have posted a few guidlines on it before. They're not particularly onerous. One should not get ahead of the mainline timeline, though some exceptions can be made. One should not involve another's avatar directly w/o that person's agreement. One cannot contradict what has already been posted (like sink a ship later used in a story). The other ones are a bit more subtle, but conceptually similar, and include things like major interventions in major historical figures (Theodore once tried to inflict amnesia on the king of Britain!). I am always willing to help potential co-authors! And there's always the Letterstime t-shirt for posting co-authors. :-) |

Jim,
Thanks again for refering me to Little Ship--Big War. You are right; I'll never look at a snake diety the same way. I hated to see that saga end. Of course, you have delayed my 4th rewrite of Old War Wagon's next chapter--but perhaps the delay is a good thing. Looking forwards to the next Letterstime! |

YAQW!
It is simply a wonderful story that far, far, outgrew its humble beginnings, much as LT did. Cuttlefish, though, did not let his storyverse grow in breadth, just in depth. I failed that restriction in LT. Once I went with avatars, that door closed, if it had ever been open. |

I would not call Letterstime's breadth a failure--quite the conrary, I love the big picture that's so much a part of it. In fact, I think tat, with the relative obscurity of the Great War, the breadth is needed. Love them both! And I'd not change either of them. |

Storyline breadth is something that can easily get away from you.

Tuesday, 7.50am.
Weather is bad in Hamburg/Germany. All grey with spray and rain all the time. Low hanging clouds, some say it´s fog, limited visibility and little chance it will change much. A day to stay in bed and read a good book or online warship story. Sadly I have no book at hand....so..... Jiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmm! Best regards, HoOmAn |

Mercy! Mercy! :-)
I posted a new Jellies chapter and plan another before the weekend, and soon it will be "Whannngs in Space". Then, next Tuesday, LT. I'm going to try to see if alternating storyverses will ease BLOCK. |

I could have gotten a Dakulavitch done, I think. But I tried for LT and failed. Wednesday is possible, but doubtful due to the holiday. You see, instead of
having theis night to finish, I get to drive to TLC! And then have 5 days with her and we'll be out of town visiting some place. Williamsburg, I think.
Did either of you read the HMSS D story? ViribusUnitis, you seemed to suggest that you had, did you like it? |

I am hoping for LT, myself
I hadn't read Dakulavitch until this week - as a general rule I steer clear of sci-fi, and that opinion of mine remains unchanged. I did force myself to read it all the way through just for the puns. The how-the-AI-talks bit was amusing for the first 30 seconds. Different tastes for different people. Feet back to the fire! Also, Small Ship Big War took me ALL of last week to read in my spare time at work. It was a great read. But now I've caught up on that and on War of 1848, so it is your turn again
