A 650mm electric ASW torpedo would be welcome. The 650mm tubes can carry liners to allow firing of the much more variety of weapons in the 533mm calibre. Russian torpedo tubes are longer than USN with weapons of at least 8 meters in length for 533mm calibre.
It has been suggested that two tandem 533mm torpedoes could be carried in each 650mm rack. That works if you have a rack around 17 meters or a torpedo room that is around 18 meters or close on sixty feet long!
Vertical launch tubes are installed in the Amur 950 class which has only two deck levels and four 533mm bow tubes.
The submarine I have in mind carries sixteen VLS tubes in four rows of four, hull depth permiting. The Amur 1650 as a starting point has three deck levels. I was thinking of AIP propulsion and four deck levels to allow this armament but if it can be done on a three deck arrangement, fine.
