The IDAF began in response to the British movement of RAF units to Twadwania in the southern part of the Talavi landmass. Dingaan Army had toyed with aircraft previously for spotting, but had taken great note of the use of airpower and it's development during WWI.
So the first high point of the IDAF is in the 1930's.
Post WWII, the mass influx of cheap second hand aircraft from the Allies nearly broke domestic industry's efforts to meet IDAF needs. This and the general peace between the Dingaan Empire and the British.
But as South Africa diverged away and the British withdrew from Twadwania, the sense of a growing threat from South African added new impetus to the development of the IDAF.
Reaching it's peak with the Communist regime in Madagascar from the mid-70's.
So once we go from the first generation of jet aircraft, likely Meteor's and Attackers, what sort of force should the IDAF look for?
