That said here is the presentation they gave the Aussies for Venator90 8 years ago. Clearly this isnt back of envelope work even at this point:http://www.bmtdsl.co.uk/media/5045482/BMTDSL-Venator-Conpaper-Pacific08-Jan08.pdf
I did have, on an old laptop, the design study they put together leading from Venator90 to Venator110 which was richly detailed. For instance there was a section on tank trials, with imagery, of davit launch studies contrasting that small boat launch/recovery approach over the stern ramp/garage arrangement of other designs. I will have to dig that out as its a very interesting read. No one is contending that there are build blueprints ready to send off to the yards, but, the more recent 110 documentation does show that block-build modularity has been an integral part of the concept planning to date so build strategy has at least been considered.

I do like the idea of Spear 3 in a CAMM VLS though.Yes type 22 springs to mind, there was a reason the batch 3 ships were armed with 4.5 inch guns, and not just that the batch 1 and 2 classes looked pretty ugly without one. Not that these ships were sleek anyway.
