The word so far is that there was insufficient room and insulation between her diesels and the hull... no word if there will be a materials change along with the modifications to the engine rooms of the others. Who'd have thought 30 years ago Hermes would still be in active service when Invincible was at the breakers yard?

Bager's 2000 words were extremely eloquent, and I wonder if this partially answers my, long on record, major doubt about the lovely Visbys - carbon composites that are strong, light, highly shock-resistant, and stealfy innit... buuut.... There just never seems to be any real escape from steel being the answer (in anything but a small MCM vessel).
