However, Joe, Obama's campaign and supporters to this day like to describe him as "brilliant," a "genius" etc etc, even engaging in subtle dishonesty by implying (or cynically allowing the uninformed to infer) that President of the Harvard Law Review is the same as Managing Editor (it's not: the President merely signs the checks and arranges the annual banquet).

However, I expect that what we're dealing with here is not so much that Obama was a mediocre student, like McCain, Kerry and Gore (all of whom released their records), but rather that Obama truly was the left-wing radical some of his former classmates have said he was: a thesis like his wife's but worse, or a pattern of classes/advisorships with radical professors (Columbia had no lack of them in the early 80s, including Said, Piven and Cloward).

Also unexplained is his mysterious trip to Pakistan (on his Indonesian passport) in the company of a roommate who is now a radical Islamist. This I think is much more interesting than his dang birth certificate, or even that he uses a Social Security number issued to someone born in Connecticut.


And these radical associations and beliefs DO matter. While at the front-page level and in legislation Obama has been 'conventionally' liberal, delegating to the very liberal Nancy Pelosi the job of crafting as much as could possibly be squeezed through Congress, Obama's real field of play is in the executive agencies, the permanent government bureaus which have become anti-Lockeian monsters, unifying the legislative, executive and judicial powers in one body. Government by fiat, bypassing Congress- the policy he as much as declared after the 2010 elections. Note the completely extra-legal activities, in some cases in outright defiance of explicit court rulings, carried out by his EPA, FCC and NLRB.


Whilst his Cabinet-level appointments have been calculated to pass Senate vetting (dubiously in Holder's case), the real strategy plays out out of the newspapers, unreported by the trained-seal media, at the lower levels, the tertiary-grade political appointments nobody pays attention to. This is where the likes of Van Jones have been hired, folks gleaned from the SWP, ACORN, the SEIU, even the Communist Party. And while these appointees are themselves 'politicals' and will go when Obama does, remember this: it is they who hire the top-level career employees, the civil servants who can never, ever be got rid of. For example, Holder's DOJ has to date hired 133 career attorneys: *every single one* a left-wing activist, Civil Service Act notwithstanding. This is Gramscian entryism in near-textbook form.

Vast amount of, if not precisely crimes, than very dirty baggage, has been ferreted out. But the MSM has flushed it down the memory hole, because a fact is only *really* a fact if the New York Times prints it. Bill Ayres? Bernardine Dohrn? Mike Klonsky? The Annenberg Fund? The Chicago New Party? ACORN? Rashid Khalidi? Valerie Jarret's slumlording? Emil Jones? Tony Rezko? Michelle's 6-figure part-time nonjob? Nothing to see here, folks, move along.
