Was a Nazi and Used slave labor on his projects, why was he not prosecuted as war criminal?
In the US a General does not let a president "do" something. the other way around.
why with Victory at hand, why would the US "just give it up" and let Germany continue to exists as a waring power?
Also add to the fact that this was the second time that the US had fought Germany in a generation, would they "allow" it [Germany] to be in the position to do so again in another 30-40 years? when they had the means to prevent it.
politically, militarily it just does not make sense , To me
