Having read it now I have to agree:

• Title misleading - main armament FC would have been a more accurate one (and sad to see ANOTHER book cover with a firing Iowa on it)
• Would have been nice to see more RL results and some comment on relative merits of different systems
• Author draws some conclusions on tactics/policy etc which to me appear a little stronger than the limited sources he sites would appear to justify.

On a more positive note

• Well illustrated, printed etc
• Some nice descriptions of the equipment.

Overall was hoping for something more but still an interesting book. If you have an interest in FC and money isn't tight worth a look.

I do own a copy of Raising the Red Banner but haven't read it yet. Looks good - nice selection of pictures that are well reproduced and they were pictures I was not familiar with. There is a reasonable amount of text but I suspect (as somebody who hasn't read it but has looked through the pictures) that as the title suggests you should consider this mainly a picture book - I feel the collection of photos are strong enough for this.

As a postscript for Worth Watchers (stalkers) he has managed (along with Vladimir) to get an article into this years Warship - is nowhere safe?

Haven't seen the Brown book.
