I think I've read it before. One thing that did catch my eye is that the Typhoon is still called the Eurofighter, which means it must have been written a while ago. By 2015 the RAF Typhoon squadrons will probably be exclusively equipped with the FGR.4.
IMNSHO I think I could do it better, but then I'm probably being a bit arrogant.
That'd be not arrogant if I agreed with you ( and I do ). I mean you go into much more detail, and Second Chance, as much as I enjoy it, is simply written for a different kind of audience. What also bugs me is the widespread use of nukes, I stopped reading Dale Brown (?) for the same reason, as Nukes outside of WiC give me the creeps.

I only read one Dale Brown Book, and even that one had about three
Nuclear Detonations in it, something that Clance however faulted his work might be recently would never do. IIRC the only blast he ever had was that one in
Denver.
). Nothing small enough to fit in a B-52 yet, though.
Warships from 2008 would
utterly destroy the Kido Butai never mind 2015. Just think of all of the advantages a modern fleet would have over one from the '40s; modern radar, AEW,
long range SAM systems, supersonic fighters with stand-off missiles. I'd like to see what happens to a Zero, or a Betty when it gets hit by an AMRAAM, or a
Meteor. The PAAMS system on a T45 would make mincemeat out of what gets past the Lightnings and Harriers, heck even the Sea Dart on a T42 would do that.
