I seem to recall reading that Jim did have much of the die rolls done last time so *all* he needed to do was put the words onto the page.
So, um, Jim...20 minutes or so until WHANGS and (RN DN Shattering) KABOOMS...right????

Not a chance this week. Been out on the road w/TLC attending a niece's MD ceremonies and visiting my g-kids.
Discussed w/TLC while driving some possible things on LT tactics, etc. May try a new presentation approach for a few chapters starting either in the next one or the one after that. For example, does the story "need" to be there for the expected scenes of this meeting and that? If not all, which ones? I covered the harbor arrival after DB and DK, how should I do this one to be different enough to make it worth it to writer and reader both? Can I "jump"? If so, how much? Over what periods? Anyway, this was the sort of stuff we discussed. |

I think you are right, there does not necessarily need to be a detailed story written for every element that is in the works. It would be nice to have a
contrasting debrief on both sides as the Baron and DeRobeck come back and discuss what happened with their superiors, and maybe what each thinks of their
chances with the schedules of their damaged ships coming back over the next few months. It would be interesting to see how each side perceives where they are
relative to the other. Given who held the field the Baron will certainly have a more accurate analysis of the situation.

Jim, I have no problem with this.
The only thing you need to watch out for is with all the damaged ships people might want to know how they coped or survived the journey home. I can just see another Tirpitz episode of him waiting on the dock for Baron Letterz. This time he is not victorious, at best it was a draw. If you want to get rid of Tirpitz you could have him try another stunt like the last major battle. When the results come in better then thought he might be fired by the Kaiser.

Thanx!
Still, another QE alternative might be to have her ground as Warspite did, but harder. Then, I could have the Dread Pirate Borys board her and blade it out with CDR Boy. As long as Borys is hungry and believes Boy is between him and the galley, my marks and pounds would be on the German! ;-) |

Didn't Warspite have this habit of running into things...like the bottom and her sisters? Or going in circles in a major naval battle? Considering how much
steaming she's been doing she's due sometime for something like that....

Have Warspite, the flag ship have a steering problem and ram QE putting both in the yards for a month or two. It would be very embarrassing to the commander Grand Fleet if his flagship too out one of the few operational dreadnoughts.

I don't see any problem with some "jumping." Maybe you are tied by precedent to a harbor entrance and certainly you have set up some dramatic
Blue Fox interview episodes, but some jumping is needed to get the story pace picked up.
Some things deserve more than a jump but maybe a paragraph might do. For instance rather than burning up two episodes diengaging Necki from Nott a simple paragraph ("At dusk Necki turned FSG at Nott and fired a few shells at him. Nott turned north and fled. Meanwhile the two dreadnoughts and the Von der Tann bent on flank speed on a direct course for Wilhelmshaven. After chasing Nott for an hour into complete darkness, FSG turned southwest at a flank bell and made a token bombardment of Withernsea to keep the British anxious. Necki then turned for Wilhelmshaven and reached port with no further sightings of the British.") will suffice. More so than DK, EG has opened up scope for dozens of side stories. The return of Conda and Borys deserves something. The Mighty One is always good for one more tale. The return of Blue Fox to New York and the reaction of the Americans to his pictures/text could be a tale in itself. In fact the return of Blue Fox is important enough to the central story line for Jim himself to write and not an outsourced writer. While Jim needs to control the central story line, others could relieve him of some very interesting side currents. Jim has to think up new adventures to keep his fans mystified. And remember, the British are beavering away at the Queens and R class. The Baron cannot drink port before summer 1916 LT. |

Oh Jim you'll like this I now have the GLW demanding you post an update. ![]()
She says I've been grumpy as all buggery recently and I only seem to be happy after I've had my fix of my favourite internet stories as she calls
them. So even non readers are effected by non updates and are threatening retribution. Now that is what I call a fan base.
