Republican machine? There is no such creature. The Democrats always have a chairman who is in control of the party. Republicans will never obey a GOP chairman. The factional rivalry within the GOP are the norm. Their political and religious views will never be set aside in the name of party unity. A Conservative Republican will vote for a third party candidate rather than a fellow Republican with different political values. Republican Whips have no influence in the GOPs congressional ranks. The 1992 election was not about Clinton winning, it was about G.H. Bush losing because of a welched tax promise. Many voters within his party never forgave him, thus he lost their expected vote. Gore lost because nobody knew what he really stood for. B. B.

Obama wins unless the so called super delegates go to Shrillary.... Then its the old guard mean guy who can't communicate or the new fresh eloquent handsome guy. Let me pose another question; do you think some whites will vote for a black canidate under the auspices of him being the better canidate and them truly supporting his after-mentioned platform thats invisible, but the truth is they vote for the black canidate because they feel guilty of how whites have supposedly oppressed blacks in the country? My wife once voted for Jesse Jackson because; after I got it out of her, because she felt that blacks have been discriminated against and she felt this was her way of making ammends. Nobody really knows what happens behind that curtain, and don't put it past somebody to say they voted for X canidate when in reality, they actually voted for Y. GUNNER

Just rhetoric and motherhood statements and the Democrats are lapping it up. McCain is targeting him now but it will not get serious until after the nomination. Dcnwilltex suggests that Gore lost because the voters did not know what he stood for. I thought he lost because he could not lie straight in bed. Standing up in front of the cameras saying things that he had to know were wrong and for no real reason. It is what would have done it for me but maybe Dcnwilltex is right. In any event, weaknesses in Gore were exposed by the Bush campaign team and what the Bush campaign team did to the last Democrat nominee was cruel. One of the Bush Campaign officials said before the campaign started, that by the time they finished with Kerry the electorate would not even be sure that he had been to a war and he was exactly correct. If the Republican nominee has a team as good as the one that worked for George W. Bush in his two runs for the top job, the electorate will have a different view of Barrack Obama by the end of the campaign. I had thought that there would be a whole lot of campaigning experts who were Republicans waiting to help the republican nominee regardless of who he was. I would have thought that McCain would put together a team like G. W. had. If he can put together a good enough team, whatever faults there are about Obama will be exposed for all to see. Presently, he goes on with waffle. Someone said something about the US flag not being part of Obama's campaign. I reckon that he will wrap himself in that flag as soon as enough people are watching. Then we will have patriotic waffle. It has been said that the electorate gets the government that they deserve. Unfortunately, the world gets the government Americans deserve. The Al Gore who accepted the V.P. nomination in 1992 was a respected Southern Democrat on both Aisles of the Senate. The 2000 Al Gore who ran for President, attempted to appeal to the broad Democrat Spectrum. He assumed the Southern bloc was his, and thus ignored his own roots. The Leftist Democrats would have held their nose at the voting booth, but they will always vote the Democratic ticket. Gore ignored his own backyard and forced Lieberman to sell out on his own values (Pro Life Conservative). Nobody knew who this Al Gore was. He attempted to portray himself as a Rocket Scientist who did Brain Surgery as a hobby. He failed. The Bush campaign did not do anything brilliant or mean, they let Gore shoot himself in the foot and they pointed out his foolishness. Had the Southern Democrat Gore ran, he would have been a shoo-in at the election and would have had a Non-Partisan Senate to work with. But that Al Gore must have been abducted by Newt Gingrich and replaced by a clone. Let's be honest, Hillary has the charm of a rusted chain saw. She assumed the White House was her inheritance. The Democrats set her up for the run. When Sept 11 occurred, she had opportunities to do anything and have media coverage verifying her leadership capabilities, instead, she just stood there and did nothing. She has been ineffective her Senatorial Career. The only thing she has accomplished was to alienate herself. B.

Yes, even if Obama wins the popular vote and the delegates GOING INTO THE CONVENTION; she can still win. As DNC rules say that even though a delegate may have commited to Obama earlier, they can just as easily change that vote to Hillary at the Convention. So even if he wins, she can win........man, you gotta love those wacky Dems... GUNNER

I still think it is, but what changed from before Tuesday until now? Bold prediction, after she quits, in less than a year she divorces Bubba.... Does Gore play any role still in any of this? GUNNER

I don't think Gore wants anything to do with this. He has enough political insight to understand that there will be no nice reconciliation between Obama and Hillary, to pick a side is to select an enemy. If he takes Hillary's side- he disenfranchises the black vote. If he sides with Obama- then your name is mud with a lot of high money donors and ultra-left types. His "Inconvenient Truth" crusade permits him to be occupied with other matters. I wonder if he has any further political ambitions. If he does, his Global Warning crusade is hurting his credibility. It makes him appear Obsessive-Compulsive. B.
