In 1961 Israel ordered 72 Mirage IIIs, which were delivered in April 1962, with more deliveries to follow. So, it's 1961, and Israel orders 72 Saab J-35A Draken, which has entered Swedish service only two years prior. Armed with two 30mm Aden Cannon and four hardpoints, this early model Saab should be able to make a good showing against the Arabs.
Next, in time for the 1972 War, Israel takes delivery of its first Saab AJ-37 Viggen strike aircraft (the fighter JA-37 version isn't introduced until 1979, though the Israeli's might modify their AJ-37s).
So, how is Israel's performance in the Arab wars affected if her airforce is Swedish armed?
