I do like to think I'm a little better looking than an orc, or ogre. A bit egotistical on my part perhaps.
Casualties are going to be huge though.
To whom though?
Thanks again.

Not that I want to compare you with an orc/ogre whatever.

Well if you want to use a Bren against a T-80 then by all means, Comrade, go ahead. Of course your insurance company might not cover damage caused by a 125mm
HEAT round...

Well insurance normally has exclusions for "War, Riot or acts of Rebellion", but as your T-80 is crewed by Agents of the State, that wouldn't
count.
A HEAT round would probably cause a fire, yes? If so then trekaddict would probably be unable to claim against his policy for blast damage, but would have a claim for anything which subsequently burned! And of course, he would be able to sue for damages not covered by insurance. Or alternatively, he could just see if he had any vintage AT weaponry stored with the Bren

Well, after his 're-education' he'll be thanking us. If he does have an AT weapons we might just use some artillery, or maybe an Su-25.

"TBO is formidably researched, and I have to say I do like reading it now and again. Despite this is reads a little like a childs story:
"this happened then this then this then this then this then this then this" with little or no character development and in part plots that are as
thin as the paper it is written on, seemingly only there to demonstrate knowledge of the capabilities of an aircraft or a weapons system. The author; who is
clearly very knowledgeable, has also let some of his personal political beliefs impinge on the work which to me, reduces its quality in places. I am also
suprised at the alliance between the USA and the USSR; there does seem to be a significant account of handwavium there; not only in removing the Communist
Party from power but also presuming the stability of a diverse nation once that party is removed."
Rob, you are a valued member at HPCA, why don't you post your critique there and let Stuart respond, though he has dealt with these issues there before. He does have a soft spot for Russians but "handwavium"? Is that like "napkinwaffe"? "What a cheek, though, someone from a land of convicts and screws calling us 'barbarians'!" Chris is right. And I am from NON-CONVICT etc stock. Actually, it is more the climate, the lack of daily showering/bathing, the fascination with Indian curries when anyone with even a vestigal, primitive taste bud knows that Thai curries are immeasurably superior, the soccer soccer soccer ( at least on Sky ) and the proximity to the French that turns us off. I am sure that I have missed at least something. Apart from that the UK is the best place in Europe for Ozzies. A very nice new chapter Jay. May your muses continue to sing and keep you at your keyboard! Jonathan |

I'll have you know I shower every day, can't stand curry and have happily gassed several premiership footballers by having them fly out to Dubai pre-war. Never mind the French, at least there's some water between them and us, as to our other neighbours...does remind me of an old joke that. Ozzies, Kiwis and Canucks should also remember that a certain UK home nation provided a lot of the people who helped build their nations. Just look at all the Scots regiments in the old Dominions.
Apart from that the UK is the best place in Europe for Ozzies. There's enough of you here anyway. I used to work with one and all I could hear all day was her strident voice! A very nice new chapter Jay. May your muses continue to sing and keep you at your keyboard! Thanks, Jonathan. Hopefully my muses will stay with me over the weekend. |
