If you want food here, you can get it, for free, just have to find the place, church, shelter. Need clothes? Same thing. Even shelter.
And the un-employed in the great city of LA? I remember after the riots there seeing something that truly has stuck with me my whole life; a scene of the welfare recipients who had just recently burned down a post office-lining up outside that very same post office to get their welfare checks.
Fred, I never said "all" in referencing the entitlement crowd, I said most. This Country truly is a land of opportunity. If you want it bad enough, the system is set up for you to get it. For some its easier than others. How else can you explain how Asian immigrants can come here, speaking not a lick of English ( or what we Americans call English) and within 10 years own a business and their children are the top students in their classes. Because they held out their hand and demanded a check? No by busting their tail to make it here, same as my Grandparents and so on.
Over seas I saw children drinking water out of the same puddle their mothers were washing clothes in and "other things".
Here poverty is not the same thing. As recently noted on an Associated Press article; if your poverty stricken in this Country, you have at least one car, cable television, and a cell phone. Not quite the same thing as drinking out of a toilet. Not saying their aren't many here that need the help, but if people don't at some point say "enough!" and help themselves...well, you see what we have now.
