for how many domestic aim points are you going to raise and station a mechanized battalion with overhead 24/7 fighter cover?

every military base? every federal, state and local government facility? every train station? every interstate highway interchange? every refinery? every civilian airport? every food distribution transhipment point? every port? every hospital? every critical industrial plant? every power station (particularly nuclear)?

real easy to make some vacuous statement about how we aren't doing enough, even while you all (voters) cut our budgets and demand we cover the country without fuel, maintenance, personel or operations budgets.

just one example: we stand up once a year an Army National Guard air defense batallion on a rotational basis that mans the ground based air defense system that covers the National Capital Region together with alert fighter aircraft and Coast Guard helicopters just to provide air cover. A JTF for the capital is in readiness to support security but has no forces. You guys (voters) don't give us the funding or the force structure to maintain even that at the necessary levels.
