Federal Employers won't even look at this except to verify you were not dishonorably discharged. I know, I've hired for the Federal Government.

I suspect that many civilian employers aren't allowed to give a darn; iirc some states have laws forbidding non-relevant criminal convictions from
being disqualifying for a job, e.g., you can refuse to hire a convicted embezzler as your comptroller, or a child abuser as a pre-K teacher.
