I agreed with the words you typed above, Bager, but the question's heart it was not solved yet: is there anybody here able to pass to me the detailed differences between the avionics aboard the Grumman E-1A and B Tracers? Maybe from a NATOPS or from personal accounts...To simply "copy and paste" informations from websites is something completely out of my aims, mainly for a "respect to reader" question... So, I ask again: is there someone here with the already mentioned information???

is there someone here with the info? yes but with significant limitations. I have passed on through Tony my concerns and what led me to question what you are doing. My conditions for a response are in that communication.

You just changed the question by the way. You first asked about differences between the E-2A and the E-2B (only the changeout of the central computer). You just shifted now to the E-1A and B Tracers. A completely different aircraft and avionics suite.

I will reiterate my concern - as silly as it sounds, you followed the script of espionage entrapment to a remarkable degree. I won't go there. You do have a nice article published on another aircraft however, so my suspicions are a little less. If you write a draft and either post it here or go through Tony, I'll take a look.

Here is a key issue. The details of the avionics suites of all of those aircraft are in a classified supplement to the NATOPS manual. Having not had those in my hands for some 25 years now, I am a bit hazy on what is in the classified supplement and what is in the unclassified flight NATOPS. So I am not going to feed you on this. But I'm willing to take a hack at whatever you do happen to write based on your own research and writing skills.

Nightwatch, I am begginner writer. So I do not have anything written about another aircraft, except the M-55. I do not use to write about those aircraft which are well-known...I perfectly understand your concerns, but all I want is a list of the electronics equipments aboard the Grumman E-2A & B Hawkeyes, just this. Not classified or performance data. This kind of data about the E-2C is easily foundable (on recent Jane's All the World's Aircraft editions, for example), but those related to Hawkeyes former models are not...The same kind of data concerning the Grumman E-1A&B would be welcome, but I wish those related to Hawkeyes, for while... My aim on write such a book is to reunite all AEW/AWACS platforms and to describe the evolution of the systems aboard them, as detailed as possible. Many people and organizations have helped me on this, since this is not the kind of thing which can be made from sources available on a single place.... So, I expect all doubts have been solved now and I can obtain the list I wish. I will be very, very pleased to give full credits for any contribution...

Bill Richards was a kind person, having paid attention to my requests, although these ones were not about electronics suites, but regarding the patch used by the Egyptian AEW unit which flies Hawkeyes since 1987. I will email to him again, this time concerning the electronics suites aboard the Hawkeyes as well as I will send another email to caew.info. Relating the draft you mentioned, do you want one once I have written about the Hawkeyes, or about any aircraft listed on the book? I did not understand... I'd have a tough time reading Portuguese. My offer is to review what you've written before you publish it.

so far as the differences in the avionics suites - the principle differences are;

from A to B is only the computer change out.

from B to C is changeout of the radar and addition of the ESM

various versions of the C then change quite a lot, but that is all after I left the community.

up through the first C the radio suite and most of the other electronics are essentially the same.
