How did I "initiate" the topic of a fictional what-if concerning an augmented ABDA vs. the Imperial Navy? I didn't. I said it was an "asinine" idea and it is.

I was referring to the topic of contravening the US "Europe First" policy, not the overall thread. See your post #30; "Ironically the percentage of forces (in troops at least) sent to the Far East in the first months of the war was far larger than those transported to the ETO. In direct contradiction to our established & accepted war plans."

I agree that the initial scenario as posted is asinine and bears about as much relationship to historical reality as does a day at Disneyland. But that's true of most "what-if" topics on this board.

Now, re the Green Book volume. It's by Matloff & Snell. Go to Ch. VII, page 147. Begin reading...in either direction.

Well, I suspected that we wouldn't see a specific quotation from the Green Book supporting your statement. I've posted several such quotations from the same source directly supporting my contention that the numbers of troops sent to the Pacific early in the war did not contradict the US war plan or the "Europe First" strategy, and were simply the result of the timing of events and contingencies occurring in the Pacific Theater. So I guess we can consider the debate closed.
