I'm pretty sure there is something similar but I don't recall if it's exactly the same.

The sentiment, or the means of expressing the sentiment?

I doubt the KM crews on Tirpitz would have a very big problem with Richelieu. Bismarck proved how good her main battery gunnery crews were, and Massachusetts
proved how easily the Richelieu class BB main batteries can be disabled.
I have never been a fan of having all of the main battery turrets on only one end of the BB. That is why I don't like the Richelieu (except the last of the class, one turret forward, one aft), Dunkirk, or the Rodney class BBs. Even though the Bismarck class was based on a WWI design, they are a more balanced design, and the French 15" shells would have just as much problem penetrating the KM belt, turrets, and deck (at short ranges, less than 20,000m) as the RN 14" and 15" shells did (Rodney's 16" shells had no problem). |

If I have the right Fighting Steel scenario in mind that's about the way it worked out... Bismarck's turrets
are always suspect, but in this one I'd give him the edge.
I gotta get away from the Honey Do list and dig around on Fighting Steel... well, maybe tomorrow.

The "Honey Do" list? Is this an Americanism needs explaining?
Sir Humphrey: Minister, Britain has had the same foreign policy objective for at least the last 500 years: to create a disunited Europe. In that cause we have fought with the Dutch against the Spanish, with the Germans against the French, with the French and Italians against the Germans, and with the French against the Germans and Italians. Divide and rule, you see. Why should we change now when it's worked so well?

I'm afraid it is. In many American households the stay-at-home spouse (used to be the wife but who knows today) makes a list of the household tasks
(plumbing repairs, painting, etc) that need doing (presumably by the male with tools). "Honey" is a very common American endearment. Since these are
things she wants her honey to do during his time off, it's known as the "Honey Do" list. What he meant was that as soon as he finishes the tasks
for his wife, he can get really important things, but for household harmony, they had better come first.
