Impressive.... however i would hate to stand on that bow lol....
Question tho... should the flight deck be clear during heavy storm ? |

There isn't enough room in the hangar for all the airwing's aircraft. In really bad weather, they use a "storm spot" that packs all the
on-deck aircraft into the center of the flight deck to keep them clear of breaking waves and lots of chain tie-downs to keep them there.

apparently, that little Sea Sprite was left out there before they realized how bad the breakers would be.

Could have also been a rogue wave. After the large set it looks like the seas ahead were a bit smaller.

Why they left the SH-60 out there is indeed a question. Perhaps it was giving them a real maintenance problem, and they felt it better to allow it to get dunked so it could be sent to depot repair for in-depth cleaning (where the other problems would also be sorted out) and get a replacement sent out immediately? |

Would rather be there than on one of her escorts.

yee - haw!!
fun times. On Indy a few years back we got hammered like that in the North Atlantic for 4 days. Brutal. And then a few years later on Midway we didn't quite evade a Typhoon - lots of "sub time"!

Could you imagine what it would be like if the Hurricane bow hadn't been adopted?
