"Admiral Callahan was not really interested in the new technology like Radar, the PPI radar scopes and TBS."

Tiornu, I want to say I read it in "Guadalcanal Decision at Sea". Great book, you might be able to pick it up on Amazon pretty cheap. Also "The Battle of Cape Esperance Encounter at Guadalcanal" paints a picture of Admiral Scott being an innovator and interested in the new technology of the time. Callahan was senior to Scott and was not present at Cape Esperance so Scott had the reigns during that battle. The Callahan was the only one of the 4 Kidd class DDG's that I didn't work on before they went to Taiwan. I guess that is neither here nor there but all four of those ships were named for Medal of Honor winners so that makes them special to me, especially the Scott and the Callahan since both admirals were killed in the battle. Sorry to take a bit of time to get back with you all, been playing a mod for CIV 4 that adds these kinds of ships to the game. The American WW2 crusier icon looks like the Helena! Anyway, hope this helps.
