A few critique's if I may.

The Bofors twin 57mm L60 is not only out of production and obsolescent by this time, it is also extremely heavy and bulky. It is hard to think of a gun system less suited to a 74 meter corvette than this. The Bofors 120mm/46 TAK120 is available in this time frame, it is more compact, lighter and certainly more flexible. But even this gun is still at the very limit of what a 74 meter corvette can handle, especially if you want to cram it full of other goodies. It also has the disadvantage of being developed purely for export. Perhaps a more appropriate choice would be a standardized arrangement of single Bofors 57mm L70 Mk 1's forward and aft. This offers better performance than your mixed 57mm/40mm battery while freeing up precious weight and even more importantly, centerline space. This space and weight savings could for example, be used to accomodate a SR-375 anti-submarine weapon and a small ship sonar such as Type 164 or SQS-17A.

The heavy torpedo tubes are certainly out of place on a ship of this type. She is far too big a target and not quite fast enough to carry out successful torpedo attacks against armed surface ships. Shallow submarines maybe but Sweden does not have a heavy surface-launched ASW torpedo at this time that I am aware of.

Your RB-08C is of course mythical. RB-08 is a bulky and unwieldy weapon. In a hypothetical boxed configuration the arrangement might look something like typical MM.38 setups. There is precious little else available in the west at this time - Tartar and Sea Killer are about it. The next up, Penguin and Exocet have in-service dates of around 1972. Two 57mm Mk 1, SR-375 and Sea Killer could just be done on a 74-meter hull in the late 1960's. You could also trade off one of the 57mm guns for Light Weight Sea Cat and a MRS-20 director. What you then have is something approaching a Vosper Mk 4 export corvette.

I'm curious how you plan to reach 40 knots in a 800 ton, 74 meter corvette with the powerplants available at the time. The most likely combination seems to be CODOG with a single Olympus and diesels on a 2 or 3-shaft arrangement. The Finn's managed only 35 kts on a nearly identically sized hull with this combination and a cruising range of only around 2,500 miles - not quite adequate for out-of-area operations.

I'm puzzled by the electronics fit too. The egg is clearly the Signaal M20 but the radar atop the mast is a mystery. It is too small to be any of the available small-ship air search sets of the time like AWS-1 or Saturn. I don't see a navigation set anywhere either. This should at least have TM626 or TM909. The optronic director aft I assume is TVT-300 although I think your concept is slightly early for this. The M20 series FCS circa 1970 were as I understand it using OGR.7's as backup optical pointer/directors. This manned pedestal was capable of purely optical gun, Sea Cat and Sea Killer control.

Together with destroyers and strike aircrafts they launch a massive SSM strike aganist the enemy, then they advance under cover of ESM and EA into torpedo and gunrange, coverd by the blazing guns of the destroyers and launch a simultaious torpedo attack aganist the transports (the escorts has hopefully been blown away by the SSM attack) I tried to develop the true Swedish destroyer flottila tactics of the 1960s-70s. Destroyer flottila attacks in Swedish, but good pictures.

Her larger size is for seakeeping, crew comfort and range. Things which a normal FAC lacks. In a war or serious crisis the ships will be constantly on the move and they shouldn't be in need of new fuel every day. Cramped ships are also bad for morale.

6. I am not sure of the top radar, I draw something similar to one on the early Spica II. I just forgot the navigational radars.

I think there will be three ASuW versions of this ship. Mk 1 with twin 57mm gun, Mk 2 with 120mm TAK and a final version with 120mm TAK, RBS 15 and Seawolf SAMs (not sure of the gun!), Falklands has truly showed the bad performance of early SAMs in the littorials and the effectivess of AAA with good FC. I think the RSwN was right not to go for SAMs until now, because they didn't have ships(to small) to fit the missiles capable of overrule the guns like SM-1 or Sea Dart. Istead the fitted very good FCs for their guns which is better in a closed environment like the archipelago.

Your ship is the same length, but beamier than the Finnish Turannma (sp?) class of the same time frame. Such a wide beam is probably not in character with the time. I suspect that it is really too big for the tactics you envision and too small for the benefits you claim. Think Vosper Mk 5 (Iran). "Long endurance" doesn't really seem to be an issue, given what happened over the next 30 years.

As for the 57mm L70, this weapon was fitted to the Spica class from 1966 so is plenty available and is a fraction of the weight of the twin L60 while offering comparable peformance.

You may be allergic to small multipurpose ships but its the only way your going to make this puppy viable. The technology has not caught up to make it a viable anti-ship platform and it offers scarcely more than a Spica other than much higher cost, hence lower numbers. The fact that Sweden started adding ASW to just about anything that would float from the 1970's, including small craft such as the Hugin's bears out that if you can't offer multi-mission performance on such a large hull you've got a tough sell on your hands.

You should check your history too. Sweden was an early customer for Sea Cat, a system which worked well enough in its day (and was at least reliable) when used the way it was intended. In the Falkland's Sea Cat was past its prime and was most definately not used in the way it was intended. AAA wasn't all that effective either, it was just all that was left.

The search radar you drew is 9GR600, which performs the same role in the 9LV200 FCS as the egg does in the Signaal M20 FCS. A ship would have one or the other, not both and its too early to have 9GR600.
