That yard as you know is very visible from the M90 and she certainly wasn't there by 1980. Quite a number of parts from Lion was used to keep Tiger & Blake going to the extent sometimes you see Tiger jokingly refered to as Liger. Lion was partially stripped @ Rosyth 73-75 before Wards finished the job. Parts from Lion were also used by Peru to keep their former RN Colony class cruisers going. You may be thinking of the former HMS Eastbourne which did linger a very long time @ Inverkeithing in the 80's

Posts: 67 (11-Feb-2008 12:17:11) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	As permission to scrap Bulwark had been given prior to the Falklands blowing up, she was visited by the Navy reclaimers/scrapers and had been stripped out of anything useful. She was no longer in PbyO and was a floating hulk ready for the breakers. Agreed some people did a survey on her after April 82, but it was agreed that it was pointless, far better to use scarce resources to bring forward Lusty ( which they did). They did consider at one point using her as an accomodation ship/helipad in Port Stanley, but she wasn't up to that either ( anyone fancy pulling her 8,000 odd miles?)

It was quite some time ago, and my memory must be playing tricks on me because I was sure that whatever the warship was that she had a 'C' pennant number. Funny how you can convince yourself of something that was not there. Thanks for clearing that up, Jock.
