So lets continue it in it's own thread.
Of the Major combatants we have the Eagle (Germany), The Bear (Russia), the Lion (UK0 and the Monkey (France).
Now the Bear is in serious trouble.
It has suffered massive casualties and is in dire need of new and more equipment this traditionally came from GB.
The losses the UK have suffered from the naval actions will cause a lot of this equipment not being delivered.
Is this enough to kill the Bear? Maybe, but I'm more inclined to a mid 1916 collapse rather then a late 1915 one.
The only way to get Russia out of the war in 1915 would be an easy peace deal.
The Lion has problems of its own.
It's navy once the most powerful in the world has been challenged and badly hurt.
Resources that would be used else where in OTL will now be redirected to their own use.
Germany can't realistically defeat them militarily GB will just retreat to her island and colonies and continue the war
unless she is offered a suitable settlement.
If Germany is sensible this could be done at the expense of France and her colonial empire.
Now France is not in an enviable position she is hanging on for dear life and requires the continued active participation
of Russia and GB to survive.
If either or both of these countries withdraw from the war or are forced into peace at the barrel of a gun France is stuffed.
Germany's eagle is soaring to new heights but is suffering from the war and the longer it continues the more her economy will be hurt.
This does not include the casualities it has suffered to date or will suffer in the future.
These manpower issues will have a flow on effect throughout Germany.
Now the bit players.
Japan has what she wants but might end up on the losing side. Can she keep what she has gained?
Yes ? No? Maybe? Any or all of these are possible depending on how the out come of the European war finishes.
I think it would be a jest if ant the end of the European war Japan alone is still at war with Germany.
I can just see GB now Yes Germany you can use all our colonies and bases to continue the war against Japan but only if we get ?????
I would not put this past GB as it would (a) keep Germany fighting a war far from the Home islands
(b) have the majority of the German Fleet in the Pacific far from the home islands and continuing to take losses and
(c) get them some nice juicy new colonies and allow them time to rebuild the RN into a bigger and better beast.
Italy - Is sitting on the fence and now probably won't move until it determines who is going to wing and then jump on the losing side.
One problem with this is that the CP might not now want Italy back on their side.
Rumania - is probably the easiest of the neutrals they remain neutral.
The USA - The biggie but who knows which way they will they will jump.
They are currently in the process of lending GB a heap of money in contravention of the Hague.
Without USW will they enter the war?
If they delay entry too long will a settlement be reached and will the US gov be left holding the bag for this debt.
Lets discuss.
