Ideal armament is the 1908 Mark V 7.5"/50, with a shell weight of 200lbs, 100 rounds per a gun. We want a uniform main armament, rather than the mix of guns on the preceding Minotaur class. A broadside strength of six guns is desired. A suggested method would be two twin mounts fore and aft, with four single gun wing turrets in a hexagonal pattern. Secondary armament is suggested to be the 1908 Mark IV 4"/40, with a shell weight of 47.5 lbs. Torpedo tubes are optional, but if mounted would be 18" in size.
Ideal armored protection would be 4-5" Side Belt protection to vitals, 2-3" deck armor, and 6" Protection for Turret faces and Conning Tower. At least splinter protection for end side belts.
Ideal propulsion would be 25 knots on coal fired boilers. Minimum range to meet the colonial station criteria would be 10,000 nm at 12 knots. In addition, up to 500 tonnes of reserved provisions are requested for mine laying equipment and other materiels as needed.
Good seakeeping and stability are requested with this cruiser.
