ships with fine forms cut trough waves rather then to ride the waves.
Depending on wave height, wave lenght, hullform, freeboard, lenght of ship and so on every ship form have advantages /disadvantages at certain speeds and wave strenghts. Compromises over compromises.
Atlantic storm conditions: average wave length ~190 m average wave hight ~10 m.

Speaking of Sabbath, what ships would fit them? The mythical HMS Friday?

Anyone wants to have a go at the following ?

Apparently she had seakeeping issues due to her rather narrow beam and very fine forward. Do we have any idea how the Iowas would compare to, say, a Bismarck or a KGV in heavier sea states? For example, on paper an Iowa would seem to hold significant advantages but in rough weather such as the North Atlantic, how would an Iowa actually fare against European battleships?
