the smaller carriers would be converted like the Hermes was for helos and Sea Harriers.
this airwing could have taken the RN well into the 90s the Buc served well in the gulf war in 91 for the RAF
now this may be opening a new can of worms and has more then likely been done to death already but imagine a Falklands conflict in 82 with the Eagle flying Phantoms and Bucs. along with the Hermes and Invincible flying Harriers.
I doubt Argentina will be stupid enough
to invade the Falklands Islands as the British Royal Navy of this timeline is
bigger then it was in OTL having the capacity to send four aircraft carriers to
the Falklands Islands (two are deployed out of Singapore and Hong Kong to
counter the Japanese) while Argentina only has one Colossus-class light
aircraft carrier called ARA Independencia.

I also have a question if HMS Ark Royal and
HMS Eagle where upgraded but not Phantomise in the 1960s would they also be refitted
somewhere in the 1970s ore where the refits they received in the 1960s (improvements
to the accommodation , the island completely rebuilt , new 3D Type 984 radar.
The flight deck modified with new armored deck, new steam catapults, new
arrester and adding of the Sea Cat missile system) enough to keep them in
service until the mid-1980s.
So the question that I began in the first
post of this topic now looks like this, that by 1980 of my timeline the five
aircraft carriers of the Royal Navy operate these air groups;
Air group for the Audacious-class
aircraft carriers (HMS Ark Royal and HMS Eagle)
12 Sea Vixen FAW3, all-weather fighter.
14 Buccaneers (10 strikers, 2 recce birds
and 2 tankers) (versions not known)
6 Sea Kings , anti-submarine warfare.
4 Gannet AEW3, airborne early warning.
2 Sea Kings , search and rescue.
Air group of Centaur-class light fleet
aircraft carriers (HMS Elephant , HMS Hermes and HMS Arrogant)
7 Buccaneer S2E, naval strike aircraft.
5 Sea King helicopters, anti-submarine
1 Sea King helicopter, search and rescue.

Thanks bager1968 and Zen9 for all your comment
so far on the possible aircraft carriers air groups for the Audacious-class
aircraft carriers (HMS Ark Royal and HMS Eagle) and the Centaur-class light
fleet aircraft carriers (HMS Elephant, HMS Hermes and HMS Arrogant) of my
timeline as this allows me to put it the air groups on the new page dedicated to the Aircraft
carriers of the British Royal Navy in 1980 winch is link is here.
Now need to figure out what the air groups
will be for the Invincible class-aircraft carriers and what type of carriers
they will be.
