Do other ship types manage faster? or other navies faster or slower?
This info is important for one of the stories I'm working on following the saga of the USS New Hmapshire.
Thanks all!

I was needing to know how long it takes for an American battleship in World War II to get to battlestations when it's in harbor, but not in time of peace.
How much does the time change if the ship is on the open ocean in enemy waters? And does the experience level of the crew have a big influence?

Fresh from Reftra, our cutter managed it in under two minutes. Consider however, we were a small ship with a very good crew and had just been (we were in fact
on the way home from Reftra) through a good training session down in Gitmo. Expect a BB to take longer. You should check ships logs to get a good idea of the
time necessary, IIRC some are online, on one of the websites dealing with PH. The thing that takes the longest is setting material condition.
Later, Bill

I've served on a submarine and an aircraft carrier.
