Posts: 4550 (25-May-2008 06:13:45) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I was looking up some info on the Folland Gnat, and came across this link of gun camera stills released by the Indian Air Force show F/L M.A. Ganapathy's Gnat scoring hits on F/O Khalil Ahmed's Canadair Sabre during the Battle of Boyra, 1971 Indo-Pak war, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Guncam.jpg This has me now wondering, despite the Sabre's loss in this specific example, which aircraft overall was better in a dogfight?

Posts: 416 (25-May-2008 17:17:30) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	GNAT was an awesome dogfighter they did not call it the Sabre Slayer for nothing but it was very limited in range it was incapable of improvement without radical redesign because it was so tight on weight and only very short thin pilots could get in the cockpit and close the lid never mind fly it The other thing to remember is that it was a generation later than the Sabre so it should have been better
