My first shot at shipbucket. A Mexican Multi-role Frigate from Wesworld. It's based on the US Knox class with Mexican armament fit. Something similar could be floating around in TLW...

Looks pretty good. The primary threat the Mexicans face, I would think, are smugglers, and pirates that have armed themselves, along with drug cartels. This
ship should be able to handle all of those threats just handily.

I don't know the ship's mission -- it it's a patrol ship as suggested by the first reply, it's way over-designed. As a warship, it's not
bad, but I do have a few concerns.
Where are all the below-deck bits of that Goalkeeper? It looks like they would hang down into the hangar. Why the torpedo tubes there on the fantail? The original Knox has a nice fixed tube arrangement midships so the tubes can load straight out of the magazine. Are you firing Otomat out of the ASROC pepperbox? I'm not convinced that would actually work. They managed it with Harpoon, but Otomat is rather bulky. Where is the fire control for Barak? I don't see it, but I could be missing something. Why Barak and "Seawinder"? (OTL name for this is Sea Chaparral, BTW.) They both fit the same basic niche, and it seems that with Goalkeeper also fitted, there's a lot of redundancy and complexity. |

It's mission is to be an Oceanic Escort for Mexico's Pacific Fleet. In this Timeline the Mexican Pacific Fleet would have a pair of Kidd clones, a
Flight Deck Spruance clone, and a pair of WWII vintage reffited 10" gunned Cruisers.
The Goalkeeper, Otomat, and Barak are not the OTL versions but a Mexican designed weapon. I'm just using them for their looks and to make the ship different. Didn't know about the torpedo tubes. Will remove. The Seawinder (sounds better than Chaparral) was in just for fun. I don't really need it. |

Updated version. Rear gun would be a 47mm cannon. The ship has also been lengthen. Goalkeeper is offset to one side. What radar does Barak require?
The bottom one is a (still incomplete), crazy, 'stealth' update!

I'm not sure Goalkeeper would fit, it isn't a bolt in place item like Phalanx. Goalkeeper actually goes down several decks and the ship would require
major modifications to fit it, unless it was designed for it from the begining.
Better off to go with Phalanx, especially for a poorer country like Mexico. |
