A new letterstime installment was imminent.
But there was a storm on the horizon.
The remnants of a tropical cyclone had merged with and Antarctic front.
The result was the mother of all storms 100-knot winds and cold rain by the bucket.
This was none of my concern.
My concern was that the mother of all storms had taken down the power lines.
No Letterstime!
What to do!
The GLW and I had no central heating.
(Did you know that gas fired central heating has electrical ignition)
It was cold, wet and dark!
What to do?
I was alone with the GLW who was cold and wet from trying to rescue her cat that had nearly been zapped when the lightning hit the tree the stupid creature had decided to run up.
So what to do she was cold and wet, we had no power, heating or hot water as the storm had taken that clean off the roof and I had no Letterstime update!
You might think nothing could get worse.
You'd be wrong the cables been torn free and with all the storm damage it'll be days to be fixed.
I was in agony I tell you.
I had nothing to occupy my time in the dark except to comfort my young and pretty wife in the dark as the storm rages all around us.
An that stupid cat of hers managed to survive.
How does the saying go " god looks after animals and small children"
As I write this I wonder how many children will have been conceived as in some areas the power still hasn't been restored four days after the event.
For us the power was down for 13 hours and my precious internet for two and half days!

Even then when it came back it drops our periodically.
So even with your April Fools episode don't think I'm letting you off the hook Jim.
An update post haste sir!
I need cheering up.
