Well, if Thales Australia buys ASC, then there will be a healthy degree of size and competition within the Australian defense industry sector... especially
shipbuilding.

How is having two large companies instead of four smaller ones going to increase competition? You're right about size though and competition is overvalued
in the defence sector.

Especially in one as small as the Australian Defence Sector.

Well, 4 small companies that are all heading for bankruptcy due to duplicated overhead and other costs... or 2 medium-sized ones that are both turning a
profit... which is better?

I would agree, that these 2 medium to large sized defence contractor's is more suitable to Australia's defence industry.
Know if only we could get the ADF to manage defence project properly we have something. |
