I'll deal with the others and later projects than the '57 cancelations here.

First off lets look at Hawkers P1121, frankly a good intermediate machine between the Starfighter and the Phantom II. Real potential there for RAF and export orders. But work was effectively stopped in 1958 and proposals for variants dried up in 1960.
A better bet for a large 30" dish toting radar equiped fighter for the RAF instead of more Lightnings, the best opening is probably in 1960 around the time the prototype was set to be flying with a RAF order if the machine comes with a SARH AAM.
Clearly potential for the MRI mission, again killing Jaguar and the F4 purchase for the RAF.
RN issue is harder since it needs a major change in maingear location to Tuplavov style podds on the wings for carrier operations and would be either restricted to ships with 70ft long lifts (CVA-01) or a very radical folding mechanism.

Camm always thought this machine a better bet for the job of a Canberra replacement, but the RAF disagreed and thought it too 'fighter like' for them.

OR346 machines are superlative in most areas, TSR.2 performance (1000nm RAO at low level) AND able to be a CAP fighter for a 4 hour patrol, most of the solutions are mightmares, but its likely to have fallen to a run off between BAC's Type 590 and HSAs P135, both VG machines, both with Spey engines and both limited to CVA-01 type carriers. These machines are sort of a British F14/F111.

An asside is the Type 583 the ideal fighter for the RN proposed twice (1962 and 1964) and thought a better solution than the F4, but the F4 was thought the faster to service and cheaper (neither are necessarily true as it turned out and the F4K performance was much worse in some areas). This would've been operable from all the RNs main CVs down to HMS Hermes.

So if OR.346 no Tornado, no F111, the RAF takes Buccaneers until the new machine arrives. F4 order might be rather more limited too.

HSA's P1152 was a interesting OR346 proposal, though how well it met the criteria is unclear. Hawkers had an obsession with VTOL at this time and so put in the obligatory lift jets and clangbox diverter for the single Medway turbofan. That said pull the VTOL stuff out of the airframe and you have a very nice variable incidence wing, single large engine, twin seats, 36" dish radar, recesses for six 1,000lb bombs or four AAMs under the fusilage and generaly a attractive machine all round. But its still 68ft long even if it folds the wings down to a 21ft width.

Still thats better than the 84ft long B123 design from the Brough office!

HS1154 really puts the RN in a bind if they have to take it, now they have to reconcile this "Harrier" with their Buccaneers, and neither are really suited to working on the same deck, STOVL and CTOL does'nt mix on a carrier really. So something has to give, and for a 'best of all worlds scenario' the RN would accept Lord Carringtons 40,000ton 43 Million Pounds cost CV proposal in 1963 for 24 fast jets and these ships might just get building being started before 1966.

HS1154 was to OR355, and competing was the Type 584, which again if you pull the lift jets from it and put some high lift devices on the VG wing have a British Flogger style machine with a pair of internal weapons bays. Orriginaly the Type 585 was a RN version, and perhaps just what I've described, but by this time the RN was demanding a big twin VG machine, so the 585 ended up being a close support and attack aircraft design instead.

TSR.2 of course would be cheaper to continue with than cancel in favour of F111's then cancel the F111 order, get stuck into AFVG, only to see the French pull out, ponder UKVG, then get into negotiations with a host of countries for MRCA.
I can see several tranches of production happening, starting with the basic 50.
But the hard part is the computer and software as the existing twin Verdan computers where not upto the job.
