You will see the IR detectors on the sides of the phalanx if you look close enough. Also inside the white ball where the SPQ-9A was will be the SPQ-9B, if its
back lit just right you will see it.

My understanding is that gun modernization was abandoned long ago. They will have the same 5-inch/54s they have now..

All 22 Ticos were to receive 5"/62 cal. guns & upgrade Phalanx to Block 1B standard. Don't know if it went ahead but they were to receive the new guns. Don't know about the new gunhouses - look cool on Burke IIA ships. What's the mag capacity for the 5" on Ticos? |

OK, I did some research and I see the gun upgrade is back in. It had been dropped when last I worked with the program three or four years ago.
At a guess, the gun house will be left alone -- it's not like the CGs are stealthy enough for the faceted low-RCS shell to make a real difference. The combination of rounded gunhouse and Mod 4 ordnance is already at sea in the Danish Absalon class. |

AegisFC, good luck with your transition to civilian life. Hopefully it will be easier on you than it was for me.
