Do to limited industrial capacity I can't build numbers, therefore I must default to a "quality over quantity" approach. Survivability is the paramount concern, followed by firepower. Speed is currently not as important. Do to the rule structure on Navalism I am limited in what I can use. Here are the requirements and relavent technological limitations. Ship to be laid down late 1912 early 1913. Max lenght 557'. Max main battery size 13.5" 1295lbs shell/14" 1475lbs shell, doubles only. Secondaries in casemate w/ max 1" below deck armor, above deck is fair game, or mount and hoist w/ max 1" armor, singles only. Prefer casemate on deck, not hull mount. Sizes available include 2" 3" 4" 6". Intermediate battery is possible, but not preferred. Sizes available are 7" 8" 11". I can purchase 5" and 9.2" from abroad. Speed to be 20kts, range 5000nm @ 12knts. Any variation of coal/oil is OK, engine year 1909. Main belt armor to be no less than 10" and at least 6' above/below waterline. Upper belt to be 8' deep, 6-8" thick. Deck no more than 2.5". As light as possible is preferred. Aircraft are of no to limited concern, therefore no AA battery at this time. 400t misc weight is necessary for FC and W/T, plus wiggle room for furture growth. Any and all ideas will be concidered, and I appologize for the vagueness in this design study, I'm still pretty new to SS and this whole thing in general. Thanks in advance. If cut off from high quality bunker coal, you can bring in coal from the friendly Habsburgs in Parana. See how cunning you were to help in the construction of the railroad from the Foz de Iguacu on the Parana, below the falls, to the Santa Katarina coalfields? Any chance to fit all three aft 6" guns on deck level? As to the bow - I'd venture that this design has so much seaworthiness, that you can lower it to 24-25 feet. And tweak it to your heart's content. I waive any rights to it Delcyros - in the AHthis is taking place torpedo boats have crossed the 750 tonnes light mark, and some countries already have 1000 tonnes destroyers. Also, the country in question is Grand Argentina. Due to its remotness, attacks by torpedo boats are not likely. The 2" guns are not very useful. The 3" is IMO minimum useful calibre, and I put them on a bit as an afterthought. Borys

Maybe delete thea aftmost one and put boats there? I like her Italian look. The middle turrets look like kissing, how sweet! Squee! BTW - you probably guessed, but still just in case. I made the barbettes with thin armour as they are behind the Upper Belt. Half of 8" would be 4", which, with 10", makes a quite respectable 14". Borys

Iberia a nation to the North of the NUS, it covers Brazil, Portugal, Spain and the Philippines. The industrial strength of Iberia is higher than the NUS but not hugely.
