Actually, it is more the climate, the lack of daily showering/bathing, the fascination with Indian curries when anyone with even a vestigal, primitive taste bud knows that Thai curries are immeasurably superior, the soccer soccer soccer ( at least on Sky ) and the proximity to the French that turns us off.

I'll have you know I shower every day, can't stand curry and have happily gassed several premiership footballers by having them fly out to Dubai pre-war....

Well insurance normally has exclusions for "War, Riot or acts of Rebellion", but as your T-80 is crewed by Agents of the State, that wouldn't count.

A HEAT round would probably cause a fire, yes? If so then trekaddict would probably be unable to claim against his policy for blast damage, but would have a claim for anything which subsequently burned! And of course, he would be able to sue for damages not covered by insurance.

Or alternatively, he could just...

Well if you want to use a Bren against a T-80 then by all means, Comrade, go ahead. Of course your insurance company might not cover damage caused by a 125mm HEAT round...

That sounds like a good plan, though I can see a couple of problems. Bear with me while I play Devil's Advocate, for example how do you get the same degree of geographic cover with one big post? Remote sensors perhaps? The biggest problem I can foresee is convincing HM Treasury (who are already smarting from being done over by the MoD) to release extra money to this particular Home Office budget for a new building programme.
I can almost see a Treasury...
