I was mainly curious as to whether or not, in starting this discussion, as to how well the personnel at MacDill AFB would be able to repel an attack, because I imagine there could be serious short term consequences in coordination if the key personnel in CentCom were all eliminated while assumingly directing or preparing to direct a war effort against the host country of the commando operation.

Well, isn't this interesting.

As someone who has lived around Mac Dill for 30 years, even camped there as a Boy Scout way back in the day, let me clue you in. I doubt it would take a cargo ship full of commandos. But thats as far as Ill go. You never know who may be reading...

Then again, what gos for Mac Dill would probably go for any number of US military facilities. I would be willing to guess that complacency is the word of the day.

Okay, for an attack scenario. Let's say that the Drug Cartel and Iran are in ca-hoots for this mission. The freighter being used for the smuggling mission is a Colombian flagged vessel carrying coffee beans for a local US Industry for refinement into coffee. The one hundred or so Iranian special commandoes are somewhat icognito as Iraq or Pakistan Al-Qaeda terroists.

With the subject of Pearl Harbor again coming up, my thoughts have turned to how vulnerable the US Mainland is to a sudden suprise attack in these modern times.
