Anyone else watching this? It is about the USS Nimitz on its 2005 deployment. So far I&#39;ve seen 4 episodes of this and it is surprisingly good, usually
these shows are more about the ship, what it can do and usually they present a pretty glossy view of the USN with mostly officers talking.  This show however
is pretty uncensored and is a &quot;mostly warts&quot; view with mostly the lower and mid level enlisted. A lot of what they talk about and go... ]]>

they always had on atleast their tropicals. They were Westpac Sailors in the late 60s. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ but typically you wear civvies in domestic ports, and cracker jacks or working uniform in foreign ports if so ordered, but I can count on one hand how many
times we were told to wear our dress uniforms in any ports and I have been to 16 different countries.

And as far as the E-4 thing, Twiddgets, yes, typically get those handed to them after A-School, Snipes and other rates have it harder, and I got alot of
enjoyment of beating that Crow on some new E-4....well, you gotta to make sure it... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Besides, there is a process whereby you can petition to have your discharge upgraded one step after 3-5 years. When I was dealing with that kind of thing in
1986 (TAD to HQ squadron, MCAS El Toro), somewhere around 2/3 of such petitions were being approved.

			<description><![CDATA[ My job requires a Security Clearance and we don&#39;t base it on a DD 214. There are so many ways to get discharged administratively and we really don&#39;t
care. We check DD 214s to ensure people passed the service schools that they claim on their resume, and obviously for Veterans Preference. You do need an
Honorable Discharge to get maximum points for that. Security Clearances have their own investigation and usually they&#39;re checking for stuff that you could
potentially be blackmailed... ]]></description>

  I know what you mean their are a lot of differences from the small boys as well, but with 5000 people on board and more officers than the entire crew of 2
  DDG&#39;s you are not going to know everyone on the ship like you would a sub or destroyer.
