I must recommend the book Forgotten Voices (the Falklands) some very very interesting facts emerge from those personal accounts

I've come across all of those stories before. 'Reasons in Writing' goes on at some length about the poor coordination of 5 Brigade, which is also touched upon in 'Amphibious Assault Falklands'. Middlebrook also mentions the poor fitness of the Guards regiments, something which does not seem to have...

People are still interested in the (not so) old girl. She has plenty of life left in her, is being kept well preserved at the moment and all that is lacking is political backbone (not being specific here as to which government, you fill in the blanks). The fact that this thread is less than serious is probably disappointing most who view it and were expecting something more exciting...

Hey, the USN managed to sink a supercarrier (Google "USS America sunk") without leaking any embarrassing footage; I would hope the RN could do at least as well.

I just wonder if the Invincibles final role might not take her to the scrappies!

Instead the RN gets the opportunity to test their weaponary on something considerably larger than the frigates previously used. A few lessons also might be learnt along the lines of how much punishment a CVS can take (with CVF in mind ) before succumbing ?
