What do you guys think is the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye battleship of all time?


Ive always thought the Scharnhorst &amp; Gneisenau had beautiful lines and superstructure. Followed closely by them &quot;Iowas&quot;.

These ships aesthetically resemble pre-dreadnoughts, but they combine the useful firepower of a pre-dread on a hull 1/3 or 1/4 the size -- albeit with reduced

			<description><![CDATA[ Warships should be purposeful and brutal looking and to my mind no one does this better than the Japanese. The interwar reconstructions on old, slim British
designed hulls with towering pagodas are simply classics and define what the word &quot;battleship&quot; should mean. They are still at it- taking western
designs and improving them:

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Agincourt!  Maybe its the name (don&#39;t think they would be allowed to use it these days) but there is something about the seven twin turret layout all on
the centre line that just seems so right <img src="http://warships1discussionboards.yuku.com/domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif" alt="image">.

For my tastes it has to be Hood, Tiger, Renown as re-built, Renown &amp; Repulse as built and Vanguard.</p>

			<description><![CDATA[ You can argue forever about technical merit or combat capabilities and never reach agreement but to me at least the most beautiful battleships ever built were
the Iowas. They were so well proportioned so balanced and so functional. Nothing was done to make them pretty they just were . There is something about the 3
triple turret layout that seems so right ]]></description>
