USN F/A-18C squadrons to F/A-18E. The F/A-18C would be transfered to the USMC, get the center barrel treatment and the USMC AV-8B squadrons would transition to
the F/A-18C or F/A-18A+ for the interim?

			<description><![CDATA[ after bloodying them with those 2/3rd of those Long Lance and their excellent night time gunnery and headed straight for the transports?

Seems to me, Admiral Mikawa&#39;s real objective were the transports not the covering force.  He committed a strategic error in forcing close and decisive
action to annihilate the cruiser force BEFORE he sank every transport and  shelled the crap out of Henderson field and whatever marine positions he could ID (
I assume he had some HE shells... ]]></description>

According to this, you may see F-35 production cuts, the EFV killed, and possibly even two carrier battle groups because projected shortfalls in Navy and
Marine corps airframes due to the Lightning&#39;s ever increasing price tag. Personally, I think they might want to look at canceling the B/C variants and

some Russian or Chinese or European or indigenously developed corvette, even a stealthy corvette? Why do the USN think that they will always face 3rd or 4th
rate opponents? What happens if the LCS on the spot does not have the right modules fitted? I don&#39;t think there is a great need for an occasional sprint

and they were featuring the history of artillery. When they got to the Paladin and MLRS, I had the thought that if NGFS became a Navy priority for whatever
reason (obviously it isn&#39;t now for various reasons) then why not try an inexpensive (i.e. expendable like the LST type) ship mounting modified 155mm
Paladin turrets and MLRS... ]]></description>
